Note I know it's broken. As soon as I get some time I'll be starting on the new improved HistoryWiki-like Today Page. More history, less OfTheDay-pages, and hopefully a bit more interactivity and customisation. Thanks to the 4 (!) of you who filled in the survey in June - from that I found that people (well, those 4), are more interested in the on-this-day stuff.

Currently I am in product-release mode, which means late nights and no spare time. This should pass before the second half of August, hopefully. [Update, Sept 10th - or September *sigh*]

Today

Welcome to the new look Today Page - more changes are on their way, for a more dynamic and interactive presentation. Watch this space!

Happy Birthday To Us

In December 1999, the Today Page celebrated it's 5th birthday. 3 makeovers and many other changes have gone by since then! (akebono.stanford.edu anyone? VOA's gopher headlines... GNN...).

Look out in the early part of 2000 for the Today Page channel - XML/RSS feed of On This Day, and for the new Timeline section.

The Today page is your one stop page for things that are happening today.

All the links on this page are to pages around the world that change daily. Come back tomorrow and you (should) see something different! (Remember that for me, 'Tomorrow' is midnight UK time).

(Just in case you have gotten here by mistake - the NBC Today Show is here. Matt & Katie are waiting for you - I don't know their recipes, I don't have their transcripts, I only see it a few mornings a year).

While you are here, why not check out the services of Voss Net, my employer and host of The Today Page? Or those of thingy.com come to that, if your needs are less, err, focused.

Useless!
Certainly not terribly useful, anyway...

Suggestions?

I welcome suggestions for other pages to add, as long as they are within the spirit of the page - don't send me your random marketing page as a suggestion, because I'll probably send you a rude e-mail.

Especially welcome are "informational" pages. Everyone has a CSTOD clone, but pages like the Astronomy Photo, and the MIA calendar on Scope Systems' page are much more interesting (IMHO). (I also tend to favour UK-centric sites over all the millions of US-centric ones.)

Please fill in this mail form...

Special thanks to Thomas Boutell for the gd library that makes part of this possible. Adobe, Imagemagick, NetPBM (don't ask) and Perl all had a hand too. Along with The Coca-Cola Company.
